The Hospital has 240 beds, of which 10 for head-traumatized patients. It has four divisions, distributed over two stories. The Hospital does not have an Emergency Unit and does not provide urgent hospitalizatione. HOSPITALIZATION PROCEDUREBefore hospitalization, all patients receive from the Hospitalization Department a medical history form that must be filled out by the family doctor or the doctor in charge of the hospital the patient is from, as applicable.The form may be delivered by hand by a relative of the patient, or mailed or faxed to the Hospitalization Department to the following address: Ufficio Ricoveri - Ospedale San Giovanni Battista ACISMOM Via Luigi Ercole Morselli, 13 - 00148 Roma Tel. 0665596246 - Fax 066553619 9

The forms will be systematically reviewed by a medical commission, that will express its opinion on the hospitalization. If the Commission renders a favorable award, the Hospitalization Department will call the patient, the hospital or the contact relative to inform them about the established date for the reception visit. Patients are usually hospitalized in the morning, every day except holidays, in the out-patient reception rooms.

Patients should bring the personal belongings they will need for their personal hygiene and clothing during the stay. The ward personnel will be glad to answer any question on the matter.

DAY HOSPITAL FACILITIESThe Hospital offers many and diversified day-hospital services available either in agreement with the National Health Service or on payment. The entrance to the day hospital facilities is independent and adequately signaled. On the day established for the service, patients must show up at the Day Hospital Cash window with their National Health Service certificate ("impegnativa") filled out in all its parts; the prior authorization of the Local Health Administration is not required. |
