Article 5
The Bodies of the Academy are:
a) the Rector
b) the Board of Directors
c) the President
d) the Scientific Committee.
Article 6
The Rector is the Grand Chancellor pro-tempore as legal representative of the Academy.
The Rector shall convene and chair the Board of Directors which is composed of as many members as the Order's organisations as have joined the Academy. Each organisation shall appoint one member to hold office for three years, while the Grand Master appoints three members. The appointments shall be made by Magistral Decree. The representatives of the organisations take office after the respective organisations have paid the contribution established on an annual basis by the Board of Directors. They will lose office if the contribution is not paid in the following years.
Article 7
The Board of Directors shall meet at least twice a year and shall resolve by a majority of votes of the attending members as to the initiative to be undertaken among those submitted by the Scientific Committee pursuant to Article 8 below, financially committing all the member organisations, within the limits of their contributions.
The Rector shall supervise the payment of the amounts due by the organisations and the use of such sums for the initiative approved.
Articolo 8
The President shall be appointed by the Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, shall hold office for three years and may be reappointed.
The President shall convene and chair the Scientific Committee, whose members shall be proposed by the Board of Directors and appointed by the Rector.
Article 9
The Scientific Commettee shall meet at least twice a year and shall propose by a majority of votes of the attending members the initiatives to be undertaken for the achievement of the institutional purposes, completing their proposal with an analytical plan detailing the methods, time and costs required for each initiative.
Article 10
The President shall enforce the single initiatives approved and funded pursuant to Article 7, in agreement with the Rector, with respect to the financial aspects.
Any financial obligation or commitment binding the Academy is undertaken upon the signature of the Rector .
Article 11
Any dispute which may arise between the member organisations of the Order or between them and the Rector or the President shall be settled by arbitration by the Magistral Tribunal of first instance of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, which will issue the arbitration award according to equity.
Article 12

Prof. Paolo Giuseppe CAUCCI von SAUCKEN, Knight of Magistral Grace, is hereby appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the first three-year term. Prof. Caucci will be assisted, for the first three years, by Prof. Aldo NIGRO.
The membership fees for the first years are fixed in the amount of US $ 3,000 for the Grand Priories, Associations and Foundations of the Order, and Lire 500,000 for the Delegations of the Grand Priories or of the Associations.

The Chancellery remains responsible for the enforcement of this Decree.
